Pre-Primary Class Descriptions
Red- 3 & 4 year olds are taken to the Preschool Hall to drop off with teachers. Teachers work with students on different activities throughout the morning. Students will rotate stations for different activities. Group morning time will introduce the letter, color, and number of the day. Activities like crafts that coordinate with the lesson for the day, structured playtime, puzzles or play doh. PE,snack and lunch will be offered each week. Parents will pick up in the car rider drive through line in the back of the building.
Orange- 5 & 6 year olds- The orange kids will gather in the gymnastics room until we assemble and dismiss to classes. Orange students will have a home room teacher who stays with them throughout the day as they go between classes. This makes the day run smoothly and helps kids transition from the preschool to the regular class schedule. Orange kiddos will have Art, PE, Music, Bible, Library & Lunch every morning. There will be afternoon classes after lunch. Some of the afternoon classes could include: Gymnastics, Super Books, Active, Playdoh, Board Games or other options. Parents will pick up in the car rider drive through line in the back of the building.
Active
This class is exactly what it sounds like, an active, moving class! Kids will play games that will include lots of exercise.
Art
Students will explore the creative process, develop their artistic skills & experiment with a variety of art materials.
Bible
Biblical exploration through scripture, song, conversation and games! This class follows our general theme for the year. We believe relationship and time with the Father will encourage growth.
Board Games
Students will have the opportunity to play a variety of board games with their peers. Teacher is there to assist with the rules, participation, and to encourage healthy sportsmanship.
Gymnastics
This class will teach basic gymnastic skills like handstands, cartwheels, bridges and other skills as the kids progress. It will also help kids work on flexibility and strengthening. This is a very active, fun class. Students need to be prepared to participate and be good listeners for this class to be enjoyable and safe for everyone.
Library
Students will learn to navigate the Library and use it's resources. For example, how to choose a book, and learning the Dewey Decimal System. The class will be able to check out a new book each week.
Music
Each semester has a unique theme, and classes provide a wide variety of exposure to musicians, composers, instruments, music history, performances, and the elements of music. Students also have the opportunity to participate in group vocal and instrumental performances that have included recorders, bucket drums, glockenspiels, and rhythm instruments.
PE
This class emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. Designed to help students develop a positive attitude towards physical activity.
Playdoh
This class is a creative art class where students will get to make and play with their own playdoh. They will enjoy creating different items out of playdoh each week.
Super Books
This class will be a more relaxing class as they watch and discuss a Biblical Super Books story each week.
