Art - Masters of Art
Masters of Art What is Art? There is no one universal definition of visual art though there is a consensus that art is the conscious creation of something beautiful or meaningful using skill and imagination. Art is everywhere - in the sky, in the trees, at the grocery store, at the lake. You get it. It's all around. In this Art class, we go beyond art technique. We learn about various artists and make our own imaginative spins on their famous artworks. We learn about mediums beyond pencil and paper from clay to watercolor to resists to using pieces from nature. We focus greatly on a student's imagination and creativity to see where that leads him or her.

Survival / Foraging
This class will be a fun, exciting hands-on class for anyone. Survival skills build personal confidence and comfort with God’s created world. There’s something a little odd about an animal that relies on gadgets, machines, and a thing called money in order to stay alive. That’s us – the human race. Most of us no longer know how to spend a comfortable night or two in the woods, let alone provide for our own long-term needs directly from what God has provided through creation. Survival skills are what you need to know in order to take care of yourself and prosper in a wilderness or emergency situation. They include both intellectual knowledge like edible wild plant identification and concrete, and hands-on techniques like how to make rope. Some survival skills are ancient and traditional
know-how that our ancestors developed before the advent of modern conveniences; others involve the use of human-made materials and contemporary approaches.
This class will include:
• Finding water
• Making a water filter
• Building a fire
• Finding shelter
• Medicinal plants
• Making rope
• Tie multiple knots
• Trapping
• Fishing
• Poisonous plants and berries to avoid
• Safe foods to find in different terrains
• Making a compass
• Navigation using stars
I have a passion for natural healing so in each week we will also learn how to reprogram our bodies to rely on what God has already provided for us to stay healthy. We will learn what plants can be used to heal.
I was a Girl Scout (when that was still considered a good thing) and my husband was an Eagle Scout so I will glean from his wisdom shared with me and I believe this will be a very enlightening class.
The New Testament
A group study on the New Testament. Join Mr Reed in class as we read and discuss the book of Mathew along with personal testimonies and experiences with God as we draw closer to him in communion. Brandon has a love of the word and will read through parts of the New Testament with students and have weekly discussions on scriptural text.
Veritas Praise
Veritas Praise is an advanced class for students who are experienced in music and/or leading worship. Every student involved will be required to participate. We take our time in worship seriously and this class is about bringing your best to God. There will not be any time or tolerance for goofing off, non-participation, or unpreparedness. If at any time this becomes a problem and a distraction to the class, students will be asked to leave the class and find another class option for the remainder of the semester. We truly only want students who are passionate about Glorifying God through their songs and music.
WE ARE NOT A PERFORMANCE CLASS BUT THERE ARE REQUIREMENTS:
-
Students must have their own instruments.
-
Students must bring their instruments each week to class and the necessary supplies needed to play instruments. (amps, chords, pedals etc.)
-
Students must already know how to play their instruments well enough to be able to learn songs weekly and independently. (The teacher is not teaching students HOW to play the instrument.)
-
Students must be able to play within a group/band setting. (this is why bringing your items to class every week is vital!! If one person forgets, it affects the whole group!)
