Primary Class Descriptions
Green 7 & 8 year olds will be dropped off in the downstairs gym space. The Green kiddos will have Music, Art, PE, Library, Bible & Lunch in the morning. Some of the afternoon classes could include: Gymnastics, Kids Choir, Little Builders, Super Books, Flags, Board Games or other options. Parents will pick up in the car rider drive through line in the back of the building.
Blue 9 & 10 year olds will be dropped off in the downstairs gym space. The Blue kiddos will have Music, Art, PE, Library, Bible & Lunch in the morning. Some of the afternoon classes could include: Gymnastics, Drama, Think, Super Books, Flags, Board Games,Scrambled States, Active or other options. Parents will pick up in the car rider drive through line in the back of the building.
Art
Students will explore the creative process, develop their artistic skills & experiment with a variety of art materials.
Bible
Biblical exploration through scripture, song, conversation and games! This class follows our general theme for the year. We believe relationship and time with the Father will encourage growth.
Board Games
Students will have the opportunity to play a variety of board games with their peers. Teacher is there to assist with the rules, participation, and to encourage healthy sportsmanship.
Drama
Students have the opportunity to learn and practice their acting, singing and dancing skills as all or some of these come together in our semester performance.
Flags
Flags is a great way students can worship at Veritas. Students learn flag movements and perform a choreographed song together. The students learn team work and dedication in this class. If you like fast paced, fun, and loud then this is the class for you. Please know to perfect the motions you will need to be practicing throughout the week at home.
Gymnastics
This class will teach basic gymnastic skills like handstands, cartwheels, bridges and other skills as the kids progress. It will also help kids work on flexibility and strengthening. This is a very active, fun class. Students need to be prepared to participate and be good listeners for this class to be enjoyable and safe for everyone.
Library
Students will learn to navigate the Library and use it's resources. For example, how to choose a book, and learning the Dewey Decimal System. The class will be able to check out a new book each week.
Little Builders
This class sparks creativity as students construct bridges, planes, boats, and various models using STEM building toys. Teaches creative construction through design-based thinking. Students engage in exciting challenges: Can your boat hold more weight? How tall can your building reach?
Music
Each semester has a unique theme, and classes provide a wide variety of exposure to musicians, composers, instruments, music history, performances, and the elements of music. Students also have the opportunity to participate in group vocal and instrumental performances that have included recorders, bucket drums, glockenspiels, and rhythm instruments.
PE
This class emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. Designed to help students develop a positive attitude towards physical activity.
Science
Science may be math, it may be sticky, it could include magnets and balances or messy experiments. You never know what these teachers of ours have in mind. We can promise it will always be fun. This class is offered as a STEM option for students 7-10 years old.
Scrambled States
Scrambled States of America is a geography class where we will play the game and learn U.S. Geography in a fun and interactive way using games, activities, puzzles, and music.
Think!
Through team building challenges, this class teaches kids to learn from failure, promotes creative thinking and problem solving, and helps them learn to work together.
Worshiping Hands
Teacher will take the students through a worship song learning several American Sign Language words for the song, as well as additional worship signs that go with the song. Students also perform the song they have learned during the end of semester performance.
